Metal connecting rods?
Do you guys know when the 7.3 powerstoke motors were using powdered metal rods? I got a '99 , and the build date is 8/98 so should I be worried about this?

I wouldn't really worry much about it. It's not that big of a deal.
What would you do if you found out it was powdered? Sell it?

Yeah this isn't too big of a deal, you shouldn't mess around with these kind of things.

Well I wouldn't sell it...but isn't there something else I could do?
Something to change it?

You can either sell it or tear down the engine.
Make your choice.

Tearing the engine down I wouldn't suggest it.
Don't mess around with stuff if you don't know what you're doing (which it seems you don't since you can't identify powdered rods..)

RE: Wrangler Unlimited 4-door
I'd suggest you to go to a specialist rather than just looking into this problem yourself. Don't mess with it, or you will mess it up for good. These trivial things should not be of your concern, just take it to a mechanic, he's the best person to help you.

RE: Wrangler Unlimited 4-door
Not that I think of any. Yeah, I agree go to a mechanic for the best guidelines, it is his job. So better leave it to him!
