Wrangler Unlimited 4-door
What are you opinions on this. I think they were a little drunk when they made the design.
I personally hate it, and think its really lame. What're your thoughts?

Every time they re-design the Jeeps, it seems like they're drifting farther and farther from their original designs.
This looks a lot different than the old classic jeeps I remember in my days.
I have to agree, I don't think the look fits with the image that Jeep has had over the years.
Their re-designing has gotten a bit too far from the original, I think the CJ was the peak of their change.

True, the "Wrangler" has always had 2 doors.
But if you think back in the past, there have been 4 door jeeps going back I believe all the way to the 1940's.
For example, the CJ6. Yes, it had 2 doors, but it was definitely long enough for 4 doors. Same with the CJ8. It was available with 4 doors, as well as the Cherokees and Wagoneers.

It may be a fact that there was enough room for 4 doors to be in the CJ6 or CJ8, but the actuality is that they still had 2 doors!
If they wanna have 4 doors on the unlimited, fine, doesn't matter. I won't care for it much, but some people might. I think they should also offer it as a 2 door like it used to be, because I think there would be a ton of people wanted the extended/longer wheel base that a 2 door provides.

Also, you should take a second look at it, and look closer, because I see that only as a Jeep in "Name".

I think they offer the Unlimited as a 2 door. If I remember correctly, the 4 door was based on the response made to the Dakar concept Jeep. It looked pretty cool IMO.
I believe more option = better. Just don't buy the ones you dislike. Personally, I'm not buying anymore Jeeps until the Gladiator, so I could care less about this Unlimited.

This new Wrangler will still be sold and I bet you many people will come to love it. Remember back when YJ's replaced the CJ's? Everybody was pissed that it had "square" headlights, and that it didn't have the classic "JEEP" look. Yet look at it now. It's fully accepted as a true "Jeep".
Now this is the same scenario. I say leave it alone and give it time, and people will come to like it. If you want to fight about "fake" jeeps, talk about the patriot and the compass.

Ohhhhh, don't even get me started on the Compass.
I think you're actually right.
I remember the whole drama with the YJ's and CJ's, and I guess the same could happen with this.
I don't think I'll be able to accept it though...4 doors is just stepping over the boundaries for me, sorry.

Hey, every one is entitled to their opinions. I think the MAJORITY of people will eventually come to their senses and realize this is a beast, and it's worth giving up a little tradition for.
